Encouraging personal development
We want colleagues to have long-term and successful careers at Worldpay and we invest in our people to help them realise their full potential. The Worldpay Academy hosts and manages our training and development activity across the globe, from induction and online compliance training to leadership development.
This year we ramped up the development of Worldpay’s leaders of tomorrow with the launch of our Enterprise Wide Leadership programme. Meanwhile, 37 high-potential colleagues attended the ‘Worldpay Journey’, an experiential programme designed to develop them as future leaders.
We continued our highly successful partnership with Middlesex University, with 24 colleagues forming the second cohort to study our unique ‘MA Management – International Payments Ecosystem’ course. The 24-month, part-time programme is fully funded by Worldpay.
Our first formal graduate recruitment programme came to fruition in September when we welcomed the first intake. 28 graduates joined our Finance and Group Technology and Engineering divisions in London and Cambridge, selected from 4,500 applicants from a wide range of universities and backgrounds. The programme adds to our established graduate recruitment activities and marks an important step towards championing the role that graduates will play in the next generation of Worldpay talent.
Talk About People groups
Since starting Talk About People groups in 2015 we have established a group in every region we operate in. These forums give colleagues the chance to speak with their senior management teams and raise local concerns or issues, supplementing the formal relationship we have with UNITE in the UK and our Works Council we operate in the Netherlands. Colleagues also use this forum to drive the Corporate Responsibility agenda and activities.
