Case Study

Worldpay helps bmi regional to realise significant cost savings through it’s partnership proposition

7 Feb 2017

bmi regional needed a consolidated relationship among its providers to improve business efficiency. Worldpay’s pre-existing integration with Amadeus allowed bmi regional to improve the management of costs, and develop innovative new methods to drive the business forward. bmi regional also required a payment partner that could provide a full service offering, including fraud management, complemented by extensive expertise in the global airline sector.

Working together to achieve great things

bmi regional made Worldpay their payment partner of choice and here’s why…

A full service proposition:

Worldpay’s Gateway, Acquiring and Risk Guardian services. Worldpay’s expertise in the airline sector means bmi regional is benefitting from leading payment solutions, coupled with specific insight and advice tailored to their sector.

Best in class fraud management:

bmi regional uses Worldpay’s industry leading RiskGuardian fraud management tool. Worldpay provided ongoing support through customisation workshops, and has ensured the reduction in false positives concerning fraud.

Strong partnerships deliver results:

Worldpay’s integration with Amadeus offers reduced deployment time. Through the single connection, Worldpay can help extend bmi regional’s payment offering in the UK and across Europe.

A trusted partner and advisor:

Worldpay worked closely with bmi regional, hosting workshops and supporting online activity. The workshops were focused on guiding bmi regional through set-up, while highlighting any areas where additional features can be utilised for payment optimisation.

The results

Worldpay has delivered significant cost savings to bmi regional during the last two years. The strong relationship between Worldpay and bmi regional delivers operational efficiencies, including minimising technical development, streamlining costs and giving greater agility for innovation. It has also enabled bmi regional to reduce risk with the Worldpay’s RiskGuardian fraud provision solution.

Looking to the future, the focus will be on bmi regional benefitting from Worldpay’s global payment expertise as it looks to further expand its reach across Europe, improve the customer experience and reduce the cost per transaction.

One of the stand-out aspects of the Worldpay solution has been the benefits we’ve realised through their banking network, enabling us to optimise costs and improve our acceptance rates.

For a regional carrier, having the right payment mix in place is especially important. bmi regional is a great example of reducing cost and optimising their payment strategy. Worldpay’s pre-integrated suite of airline products with Amadeus meant reduced deployment cost and faster time to market. To remain competitive, airlines need to be offering customers the best experience and the option to pay
using their preferred method.

VP of airlines at Worldpay

Worldpay’s expertise in global payments, the alternative payment landscape and the airline sector makes them the best choice for our business as we look to expand our offering globally. This is further strengthened by their expertise in fraud management. Our fraud strategy is now driven through RiskGuardian which has seen a reduction in false positives, and we are looking into further ways we can use this tool to support us in the future.
