Worldpay and Zuora Team up on Subscription-Based Payments
Premium streaming video site OZ among the first to benefit from greater billing flexibility
Worldpay and enterprise software company Zuora have partnered to launch an integrated global payments solution which will enable businesses to offer smarter online subscription models for everything from digital software to music, movies, marketplaces, news, video games, sports, social and TV.
One of the first companies to benefit from the more powerful, flexible billing integration will be OZ. The streaming video service provides premium lifestyle, music, sports, documentaries and a host of entertainment channels via subscription. Customised for mobile and web, OZ allows creators and content owners to launch exclusive channels to draw in subscribers across multiple devices, networks and regions including Europe, North America and Latin America.
Worldpay’s comprehensive range of acquiring, gateway, and fraud risk management services has been boosted with the addition of Zuora’s relationship business management platform. This means organisations will be able to offer flexible subscription services, better tailored to specific markets and user types, and seamlessly process secure payments in multiple currencies. Zuora’ s technology also integrates with existing business software applications such as Customer Relationship Management tools (CRM), meaning businesses will be able to link payment data immediately to customer profiles to get a more detailed view of their purchasing preferences and better tailor their subscription offerings for each user.
Kevin Dallas, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Global eCommerce at Worldpay, said: “The world is moving rapidly towards subscription services, from the way we watch sport to the way we use business software. Successful companies offer compelling subscription models that work for the business while offering the flexibility consumers demand. By combining our global payments capability and expertise in the digital content space with the power of Zuora’s offering, we are enabling our customers to become leaders in the subscription economy.”
John Phillips, Regional Director, Northern Europe from Zuora said: “Collaborating with Worldpay means we can offer our global customers, and their customers, more flexibility and scalability when it comes to subscribing to new goods and services. By providing more choice than ever before, companies are able to tailor subscription offerings to attract a wider range of consumers, on more attractive and profitable terms.”
OZ, which recently launched a premium video platform for high end creators and their dedicated fans, is benefiting from Worldpay’s and Zuora’s global payment system, which will enable the company to cater to the needs of both their creators and subscribers, while reaching a broader customer base in new markets in the United States and abroad. It provided OZ with a pre-built and integrated system, delivering greater flexibility, and savings of up to 60 per cent in development time and costs.
Paula Gould, Head of Marketing for OZ states: “Security, usability and scalability is vital for OZ and having a subscription model with transparency and flexibility is critical to our creators and viewers. The integration between Worldpay and Zuora is an ideal match for our needs.”
