Located in Listowel, a heritage market town in County Kerry, Ireland, The Horseshoe Bar & Restaurant is a traditional Irish pub and eatery that offers their guests a wide range of dining options – all made from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients – and a place where they can enjoy good food and drinks in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
Owned and managed by Jerry and Margaret Ann Behan, who purchased the Horseshoe in 2005, they have built a thriving business since opening their doors two decades ago.
The restaurant and bar have subsequently become a favourite rendezvous spot for their loyal, regular clientele, along with tourists exploring Kerry – plus visitors attending annual special events, like the nearly 170-year-old Listowel Horse Races or Writers’ Week, Ireland's oldest literary and arts festival.
Their son, Diarmuid, has enhanced the family-run business by adding nine luxury ensuite bedrooms to the premises, making the Horseshoe a destination where patrons can dine, relax with a beverage and even stay overnight, if desired.
Payment system improvements sought
When describing his payment system requirements, Jerry says, “We needed something fast, reliable and easy to use – especially during our peak times when every second counts.
