We’re spending the week in Orlando at the 2017 CNP Expo, an annual conference that brings leaders from the security, e-commerce, software, mobile, retail and payments industries together to discuss the status and future of card-not-present payments.
At this year’s event, Worldpay US Chief Transformation Officer Todd McGuire will deliver a keynote presentation titled, “Mapping the Future of Digital Payments.” Using insight from Worldpay’s global research, including the 2016 Global Payments Report, Todd’s presentation will explore the perpetually changing landscape of digital payments. From mobile to card-not-present, he will discuss what’s in store for the future and why it matters.
For example, Worldpay’s research found that by 2020, mobile wallets are expected to grow in market share by 7 percent in the U.S., overtaking both credit and debit cards. Alternative payment methods (APMs) are closing in on traditional payments with mobile wallets leading the pack, followed by bank transfers, prepaid cards and prepay, which are all expected to grow by at least 3 percent by 2020. Millennials are a big factor in the transition toward APMs around the world as these payment options are attractive to cost-conscious consumers who are wary of using credit cards and running into debt.
To learn more about the future of digital payments and how merchants around the world can use Worldpay’s data and insights to make more intelligent business decisions, join Todd’s keynote session at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23 or catch up with us on the show floor at booth 205.
