As part of our ongoing programme of certificate renewals, we would like to notify you about our upcoming SSL certificate changes scheduled for 2012.
In October 2010 Verisign updated their Root CA Certificate. To avoid experiencing issues connecting with the WorldPay payment service, we are advising merchants to check that their VeriSign Root Certificates are up to date.
We recommend that you regularly check this page, as we will update it with the renewal dates for each certificate in the weeks running up to its expiry date.

Instructions for how to update the VeriSign root certificate
PLEASE NOTE: If you have already updated your Verisign root certificate, you do not need to take any further action.
Please ask your technical resource to undertake the following:
1. Verify that your application's keystore contains the most up to date VeriSign root certificate.
2. If the certificate is found to be out of date – please add the new certificate immediately (please note that you should not delete the existing certificate).
The root certificate can be downloaded directly from VeriSign by following the link:
https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-support/index?page=content&id=SO4785.
To download the appropriate file, please select the option “Secure Site” and the latest dated version from the table listed “Retail SSL” on this page.
Instructions for merchants using Java based systems
For merchants using a Java based system, these certificates are most likely stored in a file named "cacerts". The steps for such a system will be to run the following command within the Java environment:
# keytool -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit -import -file root.crt -alias verisign_root -trustcacerts
(your keystore password may be different).
Please refer to your platform's documentation or the VeriSign website for other platforms.
Please note that in all cases your software may need restarting after applying these changes.
If you need further assistance, please contact our Technical Support team by calling 0870 366 1233 or emailing support@worldpay.com.
