18 April 2009

Uniting seven leading brands provides clear choice to retailers

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group has launched RBS WorldPay as a new brand to consolidate its existing, market-leading range of retailer payment solutions products and services. RBS WorldPay offers retailers an extensive range of payment processing solutions across face-to-face, online, telephone and mail order platforms servicing all sizes and sectors of business.

RBS WorldPay brings together seven leading retail payment solutions brands; Streamline, Streamline International, WorldPay, Payment Trust, Bibit, RiskGuardian and RBS Lynk. The consolidation of the products and services under the RBS WorldPay banner gives different businesses, from the corner shop to the global conglomerate, access to an extensive range of 75 payment choices.

RBS WorldPay will be the largest acquirer in Europe and one of the largest globally, operating in more than 40 countries, 120 transaction currencies and 14 settlement currencies. In 2007, the different retailer services, which have come together as RBS WorldPay, processed 4.4 billion transactions worldwide.

RBS has led the payment solutions field, launching the first online shop offering secure transactions, as well as pioneering multi-currency services for global customers.

Ron Kalifa, Managing Director of RBS WorldPay comments: The launch of RBS WorldPay opens up a new and exciting future for global payments transactions in the area of retail. Over the years we have grown by evolution including acquisitions of some of the best payment processing offerings such as Bibit and WorldPay. It is time that we brought all these fantastic brands together under one roof.

Kalifa added: RBS WorldPay combines excellent international connections with the reliability and experience of the RBS brand. Going forward we can ensure we continue to offer a high standard of products and services to our existing and new customers and that whatever payment solutions requirement a retailer has, they can get it from one partner - RBS WorldPay.
