What is the payment status flow when Risk Guardian is active on my account?

Risk Guardian (RG), our comprehensive fraud protection tool, performs the pre-authorisation risk checks on your transactions if activated on your account. This is followed by post-authorisation checks such as Address Verification (AVS) and Card Verification (CVV/CVC) by the Risk Management Module (RMM). It's important to understand the possible transaction statuses when Risk Guardian works in conjunction with RMM.

There are five different scenarios:

Refused by RG (due to pre-auth checks):

RG Score ≥ RG Threshold Score e.g.56
RMM (in MAI) score = 100
Last status = REFUSED

Refused by the Issuing Bank:

RG Score < RG Threshold Score e.g.56
RMM (in MAI) score = 0
Last status = REFUSED

Cancelled by RMM (due to post-auth checks):

RG Score < RG Threshold Score e.g.56
RMM (in MAI) score ≥ 100
Last status = CANCELLED (you will see a AUTHORISED status right before CANCELLED)

Cancelled by Merchant (if you've cancelled the transaction):

RG Score < RG Threshold Score e.g.56
RMM (in MAI) score < 100
Last status = CANCELLED

Successful:

RG Score < RG Threshold Score e.g.56
RMM (in MAI) score < 100
Last status = either AUTHORISED, CAPTURED or SETTLED
