What are response codes for SEPA?

Response codes help you understand why a SEPA transaction was refused or declined. You’re able to see a transaction’s response code either within the returned XML or with an order inquiry.

For example, if a customer submits a refused payment through Worldpay's Hosted Payment Pages you can submit an order enquiry and we'll respond with a Response Code. So if the reason was that the customer has insufficient funds in their account; you can contact the customer and ask them to repeat the payment when they have available funds.

For a list of response codes, see the SEPA Direct Debit Guide.
