Steady... Major Systems Upgrade

Upgrade starts 00.01 GMT, Thursday, 30 October, 2003

We contacted you recently with news of a major upgrade to our technical systems. WorldPay can now confirm that this upgrade will begin at 00.01 GMT, Thursday, 30 October, 2003.

Please read this email carefully. It contains important information concerning the impact of this upgrade on your business. Downtime for All Main Services
This upgrade will bring us considerable gains in terms of performance, scalability and resilience. Regrettably, however, all main services will be temporarily suspended during the upgrade. Downtime is expected to last four hours, starting at 00.01 GMT, Thursday, 30 October, 2003, after which time all main services will be restarted.

Downtime for Minor Services
The Payment Page version 3.0 Preview System, and the Checkout staging service will be suspended for 24 hours from 00.01 GMT, Thursday, 30 October, 2003. If you were planning to modify your payment page during this period, or in the case of Checkout customers, upload a pricing file, you should reschedule.

What will the impact be on my shoppers?
While the Payment Page service is suspended, we will display a message informing your shoppers that your payment systems are being upgraded and that they should return at 04.00 GMT, 30 October, 2003 to submit their order.

Will I need to take any action?
The majority of our customers will not need to take any action. A small number of customers will need to make a small technical change. See the FAQs below for full details.

I use a Storebuilder. Will I need to take any action?
You need take no action if you use any of the storebuilding products listed at http://support.worldpay.com/kb/reference/faqs/upgradefaqs.html#storebuilder

My Storebuilder is not on the list. Will I need to take any action?
If your Storebuilder is not listed, you should

I do not use a Storebuilder. My integration is bespoke (custom). Are there any actions I should take?
If you did not use a Storebuilder to integrate with WorldPay's payment systems, and your integration is bespoke (custom), you should

  • refer your technical integrator (who might be your web developer, a web design agency, or a technical subcontractor) to our Technical Section at http://support.worldpay.com/kb/reference/faqs/upgradefaqs.html#technical
  • ask your technical integrator to either confirm that their product will not be affected by the upgrade, or to undertake any required changes.
